It is common in many personal injury claims for lawyers to make deductions from any damages recovered. This is normally to compensate them for the risks of taking a case on a “no win, no fee” basis. However, there are strict limits on the amounts that can be deducted. Unfortunately, the rules relating to this are complicated and your solicitor may have deducted too much.
